Please read the following article explaining the different methods for allocating race numbers:
http://www.theultimateracingnetwork.com ... e-numbers/

We would encourage everyone to tell us their opinions on which method they think TURN should use, or if you have ideas for other methods, feel free to share them. We have discussed several different ways of distributing race numbers, but these three methods were what we felt represented the best options.

One number the whole time, for every series, but separate for platform as you say they probably won't interact. Its also not like we can slap the number on the side of the car like on forza is it. You should also be given the opportunity to change your number. And have a certain amount of numbers reserved for people who win Official race series.

Option one because it's mainly going to be a website thing what with the fixed paintjobs in pCars.

I shall attempt to keep this as condensed as possible, i have been known to drag posts out enough to send people to sleep. If you are planning on going across every platform on Project CARS and your talking big numbers in site traffic, why bother worrying about driver numbers at all?

The site wide numbers, mass panic from day one, six months down the line you are in the 200's as minimum choice and 75% of the numbers already picked wont be used more than once, if that. This would also be the case to an extent with the Xbox platform, the majority of folks here are on that platform and its not like you will be able to change numbers on Project CARS, as that would be stepping into a whole different amount of issues with the game itself, and its simply not going to happen until the next release, if that happens.

So the drivers numbers would be needed for a couple of potential community events on Forza 6, so just keep it open. You sign up to a series and chose your number then, this would have a few advantages.

1) No work required for the staff on the site, and less work for the staff in some areas means better work in other areas.

2) No whingers, moaners and groaners on the ' Mrs Miggles has #27 and she hasnt been seen for a fortnight and #27 is my lucky number as it matches my IQ, please please please let me have it!!

3) If your not a painter, you could instead run with a storefront bought paint in a series, thus meaning you can run a locked paint in a series, by just selecting that number on the car. If theres a duplicate number or two drivers want to use the same number, then fine, just add a letter to the number for that series, for example #27 from the first one to sign up, the other could run #27m for miggles as their surname.

4) Everyone is happy, as nobody would be restricted by a number they had to choose if the event allows numbers to be used, which most wont anyway, instead they can whinge how terrible Forza 5 is? Why things were better, 'back in my day' and how paying for DLC content is just greed from the games makers and nothing to do with the fact that its a business!!

Wow, thats quite short for me!!

I've voted for something different - but why do we actually need drivers numbers.. we all have names? Unless you are planning to change your GT to #67

+1.

With forza it worked as you could paint and add numbers on (although became harder on 5 for teams with no gifting option).

Project Cars does not have that facility at all and therefore I don't see why this is required as your race number will not match that on your livery anyhow. I've tried setting a livery on a car in P Cars and it doesn't appear to save as the next race, different livery. The only possible reason I can see for having race numbers is slightly easier to keep track of overall points throughout a year if someone changes their GT on a regular basis etc.

Changed to option 3 ,granted pcars don't have anything relevant to do with numbers but we never said it's the only title we will use.

Series by series for race numbers(make's sense for everyone to use the same no and livery throughout a entire series), and have a site rank(provisianal* to start with, but quite easy to do) and keep 1,2 n 3 reserved for season 2.
