Option 2 for me, I prefer the idea of having my own number that I keep with me. I intend on running as many series as I can, and don't much like the thought of doing several races a week all with different numbers, to the point that I cant even remember what number I am. I would much rather just be one number. With regards to displaying your number... on PCars, you cant display your number at all, but it is important to look ahead with Forza 6 and potentially Assetto Corsa. I don't know much about Corsa, but with Forza race numbers are not a problem with a livery editor. PCars has the possibility of an editor being included (although that's likely to be PCARS 2 as opposed to DLC)

I would stick to the old fashioned system (site numbers) it works. Even if the site did reach over 1000 racers, I very much doubt they will all be active. So maybe have something in place that strips you of your number after being inactive for so long? That's if it gets so popular.

I've gone with option 1. The system has worked on other sites successfully and I think with an annual renewal nearly 1000 race numbers should be enough.
