The first race is (US)Tuesday 6th October, (EU)Wednesday 7th October. You may sign up at any time during this event.

THE CAR

2014 BAC Mono

P.I.: 699
Power: 280hp
Torque: 206 lb-ft
Weight: 1,354 lbs
Front: 48%

Speed: 5.4
Handling: 6.4
Acceleration: 8.7
Braking: 6.5

CAR DESCRIPTION

It’s the world’s only single-seater road car: a no-roof, no-windscreen, trackday special from Cheshire-based Briggs Automotive Company. It’s as practical as a pair of lead water wings, but it’s one of the most entertaining cars ever built.

The Mono is a phenomenally quick machine: thanks to a kerbweight of just 540kg and a 2.3-litre Cosworth engine developing 280bhp, it’ll dispatch the 0–62mph sprint in under three seconds and keep running all the way to 170mph.

But more than the outright acceleration, it’s the monumental, massless way the Mono changes direction that really sets it apart. Lying on your back with the engine behind your head and the six-speed sequential transmission firing through gear changes like a rifle, it becomes an act of instinct to thread the Mono through corners – albeit one requiring a recalibration of your brain to deal with its physics-warping ability.

CAR BUILD

For this season, the car will remain STOCK, as it provides a wide array of tuneable parts as standard.

CHAMPIONSHIPS

Drivers, Privateers and Teams are supported within this event. Teams are formed by no less than two and no more than three drivers. The two top scoring drivers will count towards your teams points.

All team members must be announced at sign up. You are unable to add a driver to your team once qualifying for Race 1 has started.

LIVERY

All participants are required to have the mandatory graphics on their car for this series. To learn more about this and how to receive them, please visit the LIVERY REQUIREMENTS thread.

QUALIFYING

Qualifying rooms will open at 8:00pm EST and BST where all drivers will then receive an invite from their room host. Qualifying will take place at 8:15pm EST and BST, where you will have 5 laps to set your time, the fastest will then contribute to form the grid. When the 5th lap is completed, pull over, stop and wait for the host to give instructions as the 6th lap is not a qualifying lap. Any drivers that lag out or leave the session will have their best time used as displayed by the results screen.

RACE

Race rooms will open once Qualifying is completed and the times are collected and ordered. Please be patient as this process can take between 10 and 15 minutes to complete, but once finalized, all drivers will receive an invite from a selected room host. If you do not receive an invite within 30 minutes, please get in contact with the Clerk of Course via Party Chat and he will resolve the situation.

The races will begin with a formation lap where all competitors will adjust their positions and get into the correct order, and then line up on the grid for a standing start using the grid markings provided (some tracks however do not have grid markings, in which case cars will form a simulated grid, leaving plenty of space to the car in front and to the side). The race leader will then call out a time using the RACE TIMER (top right of the HUD) for everyone to go on, ensuring they leave at least a 15 second gap for drivers to prepare for the start of the race.

There are no mandatory pit stops for these races, however with simulation damage turned ON, it is possible you may need to use the pit lane. Whenever a driver enters or leaves the pits, they must call this out to the rest of the lobby. You must also keep 2 tires within the painted white lines denoting the edge of the track, to ensure no shortcutting. When exiting the pit lane, you must stay to the side until you have got up to racing speed. Do not feed onto the racing line because this is dangerous.

RESTARTS

A restart will only take place if the following happens:
- The lobby has been setup wrong
- Drivers lag out within their first lap. In the event that 1 player only lags out, he will then start at the back of the grid. If more than one driver lags out, the race will restart as the original qualifying results
- Racing collision involving 3 or more cars within the first lap
- Large lag related crash within the first lap

POINTS

Image

For points, we wanted to take a nice broad point range that could keep 3 full lobbies in the hunt for earning standings relevant points. Beyond the 3rd lobby (Lobby D and below), the points are repeated for each lobby. The thought is that past 45th place, drivers are focusing on consistency, networking, and experience racing. While 1st place in Lobby G would be worth the same as 1st place in Lobby D, the goals are the same, since they are not directly competing for notable standing in the driver or team championship. Participation and consistency count for a lot in organized racing, and that's exactly what we hope this point structure will do. For 1st through 45th placements, there's a limited distribution that follows a point distribution similar to FIA, but is much more broad (45 places rather than 10), and awards the winner 100 points rather than 25.

PRIZES

Work In Progress

LAGOUTS AND QUITS

If you do not finish a race for some reason, you will be classified as a retirement and your finishing position will be determined by the 75% rule, if you retire before 75% race completion, you will receive last placed points overall with the lap you retired on determining your position among other drivers of a similar situation. However, if you retire after 75% race completion, you will receive last placed points for your lobby.

CONNECTION ISSUES

If you cannot connect to your race room, you will receive last placed points for your qualifying room.

CLERK OF COURSE

If you have any questions regarding any aspect of the series, get in contact with the Clerk of Course. He/They are available and will be able to answer your question. PM them on the forum or send them a message on XBL.

FINAL SUGGESTIONS

TURN events are catered for fun, clean, competitive racing and all skill levels are welcomed to participate but all we ask is that you are committed to the event. This means, if you sign up an event, you should complete it. If you are not committed, then TURN isn't for you. Please remember that communication is vital when participating. Even with cosmetic damage, chances cannot be taken that will risk other drivers. No one's race should ever be ruined by someone else's mistake.

This series is run in accordance to both these series rules and the 2015 Code of Conduct, with any punishable offences relating to on and off track behaviour being brought before the Racing Stewards and the Penalty Rules, so please read through them and understand what is expected of you.
