Project Cars, a 2nd chance??

So after wrapping up the privateers championship in TURNS very own V8 Supercars Championship on Forza 6 I thought I would dust off Project Cars and give it a spin to see if the numerous updates have improved it since I last played it way back when.

My honest impressions, yes, it is much much better and is now some way to what I had hoped for. It's still not perfect but neither is FM6. Personally I would love it if those two had a secret love affair n spawned a "Project Forza" love child which had the best of both games wrapped into one, but I digress.

So jumped in, see a lobby hosted by a couple of the BAM guys and duly joined. They mostly had it set to LMP2 cars with no tuning allowed, fairly short races around what I think are great tracks and ones that are not included on FM6. It took a while to get used to as I run no assists and it does behave very differently to FM6, also the tracks were a distant memory as I hadn't raced on P Cars for so long however I was upto speed fairly quickly. What ensued was several great races with Python n Virtuosity, a little bump here and there as I was rusty and so were the BAM guys by all accounts as they hadn't been on P Cars for months too they told me.

I've put a little vid up of a great battle between myself n Python at Donnington Park National Circuit in the Palmer LMP2 cars. As we all know the game looks n sounds great but it now feels pretty damn good too.

So question is, has anyone else forgave and forgot and give P Cars another chance? I'm glad I did and it would be great to have a few more quick guys come over there now n again to beef up the field a bit and have some wheel to wheel action. Who knows, maybe even another attempt at a P Cars Championship being run by TURN ;)

Please feel free to share your thoughts on P Cars now that most of the annoying bugs appear to be fixed. Thanks

some things are still a bit of a hassle, but they are definitely getting better. I am glad they have improved it so much. We at ptg are currently running a formula c series. and the biggest issue we have is getting everyone into the lobby at one time. Once we are all in the lobby the racing seems to go good. The workaround we have found to inviting everyone into a private lobby if you may need to go into a short 10 min practice session first just to get everyone into the lobby. This requires the host to stay in the pits and send out invites to those who couldnt get in.

We accidently did it as a public lobby and the lag from people joining is still unbearable. That to me is the worst part of online racing in pcars especially in public hoppers. It always seems to happen in qualifying when you are on a good lap people will constantly join or leave.

We will be looking into PCars a bit more after the new year. The Community may of course run series' in PCars.
